昆明华文学校是中国西南地区最早开展对外汉语教学的学校。培养了20个国家和地区的学生25000余人。与40多个外国留学推荐机构、侨团侨社建立了经常性的联系。毕业生分布在30多个国家和地区，从事华文教育、翻译、对外贸易、文化交流等方面的工作。2000年被中国政府首批确定为华文教育基地。

The Chinese Language and Culture School (former Kunming Continuation School for Overseas Chinese) is located in Kunming, Yunnan, the city of eternal spring. Kunming Chinese Language and Culture School is among the first to teach Chinese as a foreign language in Southwest China. It has trained over 25,000 students from 20 countries and regions, and initiated frequent contacts with over 40 overseas student recommendation institutes and overseas Chinese societies. With its graduates distributed to over thirty countries and regions engaging in teaching Chinese language and culture, translation, foreign trade, and cultural communications, the school was designated by Chinese government as the first educational base for Chinese language and culture in 2000.

Kunming Chinese Language and Culture School highly emphasizes improving the quality of its teaching administration and teaching staff. Its overseas students have received the highest grades in Chinese proficiency tests (HSK) in Yunnan Province in past years.
